Italics in narration represent translated information.
347th Sun, 4th Moon Waning, Trough of Low Tide. It is a bright night in the Shar Isles port town of Nal'Shar. The skies are clear after a brief rain, and the crescent moon shines with a white-blue glow, casting light down upon the port and dancing across the waters. A light low-lying mist rolls off from the shore, glittering in the moonlight.
Marcus has made his way here, pursuing rumors of a hire that will take him to a small village in Myirce, where if the tall tales prove truthful, lives a old retired master archer of the Myirce infantry.
He waits within the Cloud-strider Inn, a moderately sized, two-story adobe building near the shoreline. The exterior of the building employs substantial circular motifs throughout, and has two tall, perfectly curved arches for front doors. Above the arches rests a cyan and blue striped banner, emblazoned with the words Rest your weary feet upon the warm shore, traveler. You are home.
The interior shows signs of nothing but a high-class establishment. There are tables and benches of polished sandstone, each adorned with a warmly orange aromatic candle and silvered cutlery. The domed ceilings depict elaborate murals of skies, from bright and clear to dark and stormy.
Marcus has been seated at a table beneath a striking depiction of a peal of lighting from a clear sky striking the mast of a sailboat. He is waiting for a man named Shafiq of the House of Clouds, who has been recommended to him as a contact by his father. He should arrive within the next quarter tide.
347th Sun, 7th Moon Empty, Time Unknown:
Demae has just been awoken by the sound of a hideous windstorm.

Marcus, who has had to meet many contacts over the year, is busy making sure this meeting goes smoothly. He calls the a waitress over and asks for drinks for him and his "friend" whom should be there shortly (I'm not quite sure exactly how the moons/tides system works, so forward this by a bit to closer to when the guy is coming if necessary) and begins to look around the root casually to see if anyone in particular is watching him. Otherwise, he sits there patiently.
(Assuming he has been staying at this inn for a bit, his chest is in his room and he is wearing all of his typical adventuring gear in case this meeting goes sour.)

You are offered your choice of [Herbal Tea, Black Coffee, Juiced Mango, or Spiced Wine], and informed by a waiter in poor but understandable Sarl, "Mr. Shafiq should be along presently."
Spot: Your keen eyesight detects all 8 people in the Inn currently looking at you. 7 of them patrons, and one large, gruff bouncer.
Sense Motive: You get the feeling that most of this attention is idle curiosity at a person from across the seas being here.
Spot: When the waiter spoke to you, 7 pairs of eyes come off of you, including the bouncer.
Listen: The patrons who have stopped looking at you have turned to hushed gossip that you can only catch the tone of over the ambient noise.

Another freakin storm.
First I try to remember where I left my stuff in case I need to get it.
Check on the storm to see how much longer it is likely to last. Try to verify that everyone nearby is okay, safety permitting and if possible without them noticing.
If everything should be fine, try to go back to sleep.
I have been under a self imposed internet ban but now I should be able to check back Monday at the latest.
Edit:Just to make sure you got it, Genki was his given name and Demae was his family name. If I read the Myirce section correctly they write their names as family name followed by given name

Marcus asks for 2 glasses of spiced wine [assuming they have glasses, if not then mug/flagons/whatever would seem appropriate], thanks the waiter for his information, and then waits patiently at the table.
[Of note, I updated my character sheet of some typos/artifacts and added the languages because I apparently skipped them]

Spot: Genki's eyes have adjusted to the darkness. He is in a small underground 10x10 room, filled with musty, dull red clay urns. A rickety bamboo ladder leads up to a hatch, which is mildly secured.
After waking up and becoming more cognizant, Genki fairly easily determines that he is right in the middle of a typhoon, possibly one of the worst he has ever been in. His experience in survival and travels around Myirce allowed him advance warning, and he stopped his day's travel towards home early to set up shelter in an underground farming storeroom.
Survival: Under almost any circumstances you should not leave where you are, or loose the hatch until the storm dies down.
Listen You somehow manage to hear some kind of scraping sound coming from the hatch over the wind.
It is not long before Marcus notices someone obviously moving his way and looking at him.
The man approaching you stands 5'11'' tall, with a rotund and muscular build. His skin is a deep, sun-soaked olive, and he wears loose, flowing blue linens. Of course, the most striking aspect is his head. He is completely devoid of hair anywhere on his head, and has the scars of an old burn running from his scalp, past his right ear, straight to his chin.
He speaks in accented, but perfect Sarl. "Ah. You must be Marcus. I am pleased to make your acquaintance. I am Shafiq, son of Ahmad, of the House of Clouds." After which he extends his hand in the manner of a Sarleon gentleman's handshake.

Macrus gets up from his seat and shakes the man's hand and says "Oh, no sir, the pleasure is all mine. Would you like to sit and enjoy a drink? I've ordered some spiced wine that I hear is to die for" motioning to his table. He continues "My father has told me you may know of a way for me to meet a great archer from of Myrice, and I am quite interested."

Logic says to just wait it out. The Adventurers Code says we have to try to figure out what is making the sound however. Hopefully it is not somebody trying to get in because then I probably will let them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Genki investigates the sound coming from the hatch. *If it seems like it could come loose he tries to secure it better. *If it seems like there are people trying to get, in he attempts to confirm that they are in fact people by yelling "Is anybody there" at them and waiting for them to yell back.
"Yes, yes. Certainly. I must mention I'm impressed. The bouncer has mentioned the exceptional degree of your concealed arsenal, and I must compliment your preparedness. I feel the need to tell you, as a foreigner here, you always have the right to carry concealed weaponry unless you've personally requested an audience with someone very important."
"The person you're looking for is a retired general of the Myirce infantry. He apparently wanted to become a farmer, and after finishing his term, he bought farmland with part of his pension. He used to be fairly famous, so he retired to a very out of the way part of the isles."
"We'll be passing within one or two islands of where he should be. As the house of clouds is always willing to foster business relations with skilled tradesmen, I'd be pleased to offer you work as a merchant guard on the trip over."
Genki listens intently by the hatch, and manages to make out the sound of wood scraping against wood over the din of the wind.
Marcus replies: "I'm sorry if I've offended you, but I was not yet made aware of when to expect the ship leaving, so I thought it more offensive to make you wait unnecessarily while I accounted for my things if the ship was leaving soon."
After a brief pause, he continues: "I would be glad to guard the ship as we sail over; when is it leaving? If we have some time, would I be able to request knowledge of what living and travelling conditions will be like so I can get prepared and purchase extra supplies if necessary?"
"Courteous. Cautious. Prepared. I think we will get along quite well, Marcus.
We'll be leaving at the peak of high tide two days from now.
With regards to berth, you'll have a personal footlocker and off-shift use of a cot, as well as another footlocker in the hold you may use for any items you wish to trade personally, at your option.
As the captain, I will handle the provision of supplies. We will be running a slightly longer route that allows us multiple stops to restock, and so also carry more cargo. If you have a particular desire for red meat, however, I would suggest getting some preserved personal rations before we depart, as it likely won't be available at all.
With regards to traveling conditions, expect to be on constant alert until we have left the Shar Isles. They are the nastiest waters regarding piracy without exception. After we clear the Shar isles, our major concern will mostly be storm watch.
Payment on my ships is as fair and transparent as I can make it. Each person will get one share of any profit made over however long they remain on board, with two shares to the Bosun, Cook, Helmsman, and Captain.
If this arrangement suits you, I'd be pleased to take you on from here to Myirce.
Genki's update shall hold on till the 6th.
Forming a reply now, sorry it's so delayed...
"Thank you very much for this opportunity, I will indeed join you to Myrice. I think I'll take your advice and pick up some preserves before we go. Other than what you see on me and a bit of meat, all I intend on bringing along with me is my trunk that's currently located in my room upstairs. I've already sold all of my father's wares to a local shop, so on this trip, I'll be travelling light; no need to waste precious cargo space."
After taking a sip of wine and thinking to himself for a second, Marcus continues,
"And what is the name of your fair ship that I might find it at the proper time?"
Update:
Sorry about delays. A couple of problems have popped up at work recently, which means I get to work unpaid overtime...
I've got the next stuff ready, I just haven't had the time to properly write it out.
Thanks for bearing with me, this was a rough week.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
Shafiq gestures upwards.
Do you see the painting above us? Of the ship being struck by lightning? That ship was known as Black Cloud. Around two years ago, we were coming into port from the outer sea when a great bolt of lightning stuck the main mast. In the end, all we could do was guide the wreck into the shoals.
But I am still alive, and my ship is still alive, though it took a while for both of us to be repaired.
Look for the Silver Cloud. You'll find it hard to miss.
Slivers of light fall through cracks in the hatch, and the horrible screeching wind begins to abate.
