I'm also willing to pick up shield wall, or another teamwork feat. Mostly because as a phalanx soldier my character, Rakan, will be largely based around tanking and helping his teammates.

You realize the only reason we put up with your cannibalism this year is because we're not sure we could take you right?

Grah, I'm tempted to do a ranger/ druid build with the natural weapon combat style and choose the shapeshifting hunter feat which lets me use my ranger and druid levels to determine my favoured enemy bonuses and the number of times per day my character can use wild shape. So indecisive. Oh man, I can get claws too. This is awesome.

Yes the new book is taking awhile, but for good reason.
They are bumping the race selection from 7 in-depth core races, all of which will be given even more options in terms of favored class bonuses and racial trait customization, to 37* races total [This number could be a little off]. 16 of these new races are being given a ton of focus and will likely have as many options as the current core races; the other new races are being given a bit less focus, however they all supposedly have customizable options in regards to racial traits and favored classes.
Then when all of that is said and done, there is also the matter of new racial gear and feats, however all I have not been able to track down much about this other than a few human exclusive feats that were previewed a few weeks back.
Also, the final chapter is dedicated to custom race creation and adaptation; so yeah there will be a lot of new stuff to catch up on over the summer, there is also the matter of Ultimate Equipment being released over the summer but that's another story altogether.
*Almost forgot about the new class archetypes, it looks like there will be more than a few new archetypes for the existing classes.
*LE EDIT: They are covering all or most of the non-core races [as found in races of the dragon empire and monster race sections], the following are getting 6 pages each: Aasimar Catfolk Dhampir Drow Fetchling Goblin Hobgoblin Ifrit Kobold Orc Oread Ratfolk Sylph Tengu Tiefling Undine
This next group is getting 2 pages each: Changeling Duegar Gillmen Grippli Kitsune Merfolk Nagaji Samsarans Strix Suli Svirnfneblin Vanara Vishkanya Wayang
There may or may not be one or two that are missing from these lists, also the original 7 races are getting more stuff.

Having read the advanced race guide now, i'd say we will likely allow the races and rules printed in it (Brent has the final word on it though) as for created races, i doubt letting PC's make a race will be something we allow, as it would not really jive with our setting, though a DM or two may make a race or two and open them up to the players as a playable choice.
