Khan HorgalBorn to the norther steppes of Rohn, Horgal and his people were given nothing by the kingdom of man, and what little they had was often lost to the savagery of the orc. Only the strong, wild and cruel lived at all, let alone were allowed to prosper. Born the son of a cripple and a whore, little hope was ever left for the boy, and his death as a babe was all but sealed. It was by luck, chance and a few good years of limited orc raids, and a wealth of foolish farmers that there was enough soft living to keep the boy alive. After his 5th year of life however that soft life came to a close. A deadly cold winter set in, and the orc forces marched south in mass. The men of Rohn were forced to ride north and slay the green skins, as well as the wild tribes such as Horgal's. The boy was left orphaned and alone, living in the harsh wild plains of the steppes. It was in the following 10 years of life that he learned how to be hard, harsh, fast and deadly. He learned to steal, kill and to fight... but more than that he learned what made men strong, and what made them weak. As young as he was the boy had spirit, charisma and fury, with these he gathered a small band of other cast offs and hungry men. Together they became raiders, acting with greater skill than the orcs, and with strength that the southern folks could not match. Life was hard, but with a good sword, bow and horse Horgal made a life for himself, and his men as well. His horde grew, and in time they took families, becoming a tribe as much as a bandit gang. They embraced the ways of the steppes and became renowned, and feared as few others were. It is thought that the steppes are littered with Horgal's bastards, as was the case for many of his men, but in truth he had but a single son, to a wife no less. This boy was strong, brave and fierce like his father, but unlike his father this child would be raised right. By age 34 Khan Horgal had declared his boy heir and had lined up a marriage to the daughter of another tribes 'princess'. It was not meant to be however, as the men of Rohn had come to put an end to the raids, having tracked down the khan, they rode him, his men, and even their families down, it was only by luck that the child lived, barely a man and with only what his horse could carry he left.

Mari OlokaiBorn in Ohshoe Mari was lucky and gifted child. She was quick, clever and pretty, combined with well off family she was born to greatness. In her youth Mari often spent days at the docks learning about the world, and trying to get the newest exotic pet, food, or clothing. As she grew older her focus changed slightly, her eyes were for sailors and ships. By 16 she had convinced her family that she was best suited to the life of a merchant trader aboard the Golden Mist, a trusted and well built ship captained by her uncle. Mari was never happier. She was a good petty officer, and not a bad trader herself. For three years she travelled up and down the western coast with her uncle, making friends, trading strange goods and living the good life. In this time she learned many skills, from Hikotain sword play, to elven fine dancing. She also grew in to an able leader and fiery young woman with her heart on her sleeve. This wild girl attitude lead her to leave her family and the Golden Mist, to join with a ship headed to the east by way of the southern ocean. Mari wanted to see the world, meet it's peoples and date the first-mate of said ship. From there her life was a wild riot of adventure, exploration and sometimes danger. Mari grew to the age of 25 before coming down with the only for of malady she would allow to slow her down, a child. She spent many months in Green Water Bay with a few friends as she came to term and bore her son, Dirk. The boy was healthy and fit, a gift. By the time he was old enough to walk, she'd taught him to swim, climb rigging and salute. He was born to the sea and sailing as much as his mother was, and so she went back to the sea before the boy was in his second year. She never told him who his father was, only speaking of it when asked, and even then saying only 'Some handsome sailor in some port.' Mari was more careful after having her son, returning to a smaller trade route with a trusted crew. Adventure was still her life, but it was tempered with a mothers need to watch out for her child. By the time Dirk was 11 his mother had become captain of a heavy trade ship, and had wealth enough to fund him a small commission and to send him home to Ohshoe to meet his grandparents. The boy made it home, and became successful even. Though his grandparents had lost the great wealth Mari had told her son of to rival traders, a life was there for him at sea. Captain Mari Olokai may still be out there some where, but word was that on the summer of Dirk's 17th year her ship went down north of Red Tide, and all hands were lost.

Plus, fathers still out there(who ever he is), grandad is kicking, and you have family around the world.
Agrha may have a half brother, Jeremy has an aunt, and both Blood River-Thorns parents are still alive.
Not sure about adrian though, never spoken on that topic.

You are also the last of your people, seeking to right the wrongs of your past and..... oh, nope thats right your a damn dirty raider, no better than 'Bandit Leader' or 'Raider Sadist' with a horse.
Side note, do you want me to bind the party together with a over arching plot hook, or let you guys figure out why to stick together?

I'm good either way. I had a reason for Jeremy to start to accept Agra myself, but I can ditch that plan if you want (it was going to take forever anyway).

Well, like you said, I'm a murderous hobo. I don't need much more of a reason to stick with the group than the fact I don't have anything better to do. I don't have any reason to hate the other party members based on my past, though they may well hate me for said past. Not that I have any problem with a more structured reason behind the group, that could be a good idea to give us some direction.
