Now that we've finally reached level 5 I've been able to take my first level of Marshal! What does this mean for you fine lot? Why I'll tell you!
Marshals are able to maintain a variety of different "auras" that grant various bonuses to all allies within 60 ft (120 ft later, but we're getting ahead of ourselves). Every few levels I'll be able to pick up a new type of aura, thereby increasing what kind of things I'll be able to buff.
Since these choices will effect whoever I'm traveling with as much as they will my self, I figured it might be fun to let the club vote on which auras I pick up at each level.
I'm thinking of a few different ways to determine the winning choice, but for this first one we'll do a strait forward vote.
At the first level of Marshal I am allowed to choose 1 minor aura. A minor aura allows me to give everyone a bonus equal to my charisma bonus (currently +5) to certain checks. Here are our choices:
1. A bonus on rolls made to confirm critical hits. Nothings more annoying than threatening a crit and botching the confirm!
2. A bonus on various special attacks, including disarm, trip, bull rush, and sunder attempts. Good for you fighter types
3. A bonus on Fortitude, Reflex, or Will saves. Choose one!
4. A bonus on beating spell resistance. Not too useful yet, but could be a god send at higher levels for casters
5. A bonus to AC against attacks of opportunity. Good for mobile types and against those with reach
6. A bonus on damage rolls when flanking. Now non rogues want that flank just as badly!
7. A bonus on ability and skill checks for any one attribute (Strength, Wisdom, ect.). Great for social types, sneaky people, or for noticing giant scorpions crawling on you in your sleep!
8. A bonus on damage rolls when charging. Because what charge builds are really missing is even more damage.
Just post your vote, by name or number! If you choose one of the save or ability boosters, make sure you say what type you want. Which ever one has the most votes by Wednesday will be selected.
