joining the DM team requires 4 things (that I can think of): -- willing to be sworn to secrecy, what happens behind the DM screen, stays behind the DM screen -- willing to learn the games plot, at the cost of ruining the awesomeness for you -- taking on a role as a representative of the club and all that we do -- and occasionaly voicing your opinion in DM votes that will effect all players, its our job to keep the game balanced If your willing to accept all this, then talk to Nygil about getting the DM tag added to your profile

I'd also suggest, in terms of experiance:
You should be a player for at least a full year with two different campaigns under your belt, preferably playing with multiple DMs and styles.
Played long enough to, or put in the effort to, Memorize the majority of the player's handbook and dungeon master's guide. You must be able to know what your players are doing off by heart and not pause the game every time something starts a grapple.
Read some formal published adventures. Wizards has also published a number of free, decent adventures with everything properly done. Read some of these to get a feel on adventures.
----------------------------------
The model we have now is, especially with all the books we allow, not very conducive to brand new DMs, especially since we don't have a formal mentoring program/mission set up.
(Note to Self/Club: Create at least two modules, one a tutorial level covering a majority of bases for people new to DnD, one covering acting as the dungeon master.)

Bah, Q picked up on it, anyone can learn how to DM by doing. He knew like nothing, and look at him now!
Jesse's training is a bit Lawful for me, as I take the choatic learn by doing method.

I meet and agree with all the above requirements, I played with a small group of friends for almost 2 years so I know my stuff. I was the back-up DM but I definitely feel I can make fun games. I already spot-DM'd a game a couple weeks back for the club too.
